An exceptionally large lantern from the late 19th century. Made in the style of Louis XIV of bronze and iron. Originally designed to be fuelled with gas, it has now been wired for European power and a fixing point has been added on top. Some of the frieze is missing at the top. No glass.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
