Turmeric - Organic (Rhizome)

Best planted in November, this popular spice (and superfood), will grow in any frost-free area in Australia (and even in areas where frost is very light). Canna-like leaves emerge from the rhizome during spring (year round in the tropics). Tubers are mild when dug during the growing season, stronger when dug after the leaves have died down inthe autumn. A very productive plant, producing abucketful of harvestable roots from one rhizome in a single growing season. Available as red and yellow turmeric bulbs.
